Hello, World!

I am arahili0123. I am in my mid-20s; and some years ago, I went through a significant personal reset that changed my perspective on life.

A linguistic construct, is my username. My forename and my surname, I translated them into English, then re-translated them into an admirable extinct language. My nickname is Arara.

I am a reader. To me, medium does not matter, genre does not matter; if the story has a strong character, a strong idea, then I will love it. One of my enduring favorites is To Kill A Mockingbird, which I'm planning to revisit with a local book club.

I am trying to become a writer as well.

My primary project is Reversed Spear, a short Stoic illustrated novel about two assassins — named Scarlet and named Azure — and about the female American President Amethyst. I also maintain a semi-active project titled Lerna, about three brothers who despise one another so much that they allow their mutual enemy to manipulate them into waging war against each other; while secretly exploiting that manipulation as license for mutual destruction.

Alongside this, I keep a notebook-dossier — titled Jurisprudence — in which I catalog traits I observe in creatives I study: those I adopt, those I consider, and those I consciously reject. Watching Hideaki Anno's Neon Genesis Evangelion and reading Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, they pushed me toward cultivating a distinctive signature, immediately recognizable; but what crystallized that desire was watching Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal.

I am a tabletop role-playing gamer. My current fixation is White Wolf's old World of Darkness; and particularly Vampire: The Masquerade, and Mage: The Ascension. I've recently begun reading the Clan Novel Saga, beginning with Stewart Wieck's Clan Novel: Toreador; and I intend to read the other twelve volumes as well. I am also fond of Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering, and Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40,000; though the latemost one less so than the others.

For reading, I use an e-reader. For writing, I favor a 0.9 millimeter mechanical pencil; and for highlighting I use a blue 0.5 millimeter pencil with blue lead, and a red 0.5 millimeter pencil with red lead. For notetaking, I use Obsidian.

At present, I am reading Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, to assist a friend with his graduate-level literature work; and reading Dan Simmons' Carrion Comfort, because an acquaintance has lent his hard copy to me. I'm watching MAPPA's Jujutsu Kaisen S01.

I am not a philosopher; but I am fond of Stoicism, because I consider its minimalism to be clarifying. Reversed Spear, it is a literary attempt, that is but an excuse to let Stoicism preoccupy me.

I live with chronic depression and OCD, for which I am medicated. I have survived a crisis period in the past.

My handwriting is notoriously ugly. I compose my fiction by writing longhand; but when I'm typing it, I use italics to convey thought, and I use underlines to convey emphasis.

Neither do I believe in smoking, nor do I believe in drinking. Some persons decrease sleep for business; I increase sleep for productivity.

I consider politics to be ugly and dirty.

I have three close friends. One is from my school life, the other two are my online friends. We're all unapologetic otaku, though we sadly find little and less time for anime and manga nowadays. One of them is a salaryman, one is finishing graduate study, one has recently graduated.

I live in South Asia. I intend to relocate abroad, ideally somewhere affordable in East or Southeast Asia; partially because I honestly like my current country little, and daily I'm liking it less. I dream of writing light novels in Japan; but that is an impossible dream.

The seasons are shifting where I live, so the weather is erratic; I am mildly ill and restless.

My family background includes law, education, and construction. I have lost close family members in the past decade. I am an only child.

I plan to admit myself to a university soon. Once, my aim was English literature and psychology; but I have determined that being a law professor would be a good way way of honoring my family.

For taking the time to read, Studio Morningstar thanks you. Long days and pleasant nights.
